| Submission Guidelines: We are now considering unsolicited submissions. We don’t have deadlines. After the current issue goes to print, we consider submissions for future issues. We will consider any unpublished original works. If we search for the work on the internet and find it, we will not publish it, even if we love it. If you’ve posted it to MySpace, Gather.com, your LiveJournal, or anywhere else, with public permissions, we cannot accept the work because we cannot claim first serial rights. Sorry. Response Time: We will usually respond within one-three months with a rejection letter, an acceptance letter and publication agreement, or a request for edits outside the scope of typo corrections or grammar or syntax. Please wait at least 30 days from date of submission before making additional inquiries. We don’t like people who don’t follow directions. How to Submit: Submissions must be typed in a reasonable point size (10-12). Short fiction must be double spaced. We will only read submissions in Times New Roman, Palatino Linotype, Verdana, Arial, Arial Narrow, or other PLAIN fonts. DO NOT submit anything typed in Comic Sans. Include: Cover Letter including name, mailing address, titles of works submitted, and a brief biographical statement written in third person point of view (under 200 words). We recycle all hard-copy submissions. Email electronic submissions to plainspoke@gmail.com . We will accept .doc or .rtf files. Any other file types submitted will be deleted. If you prefer to include the work in the body of your email, that is fine. Important: Fiction submissions must use the following subject line format:
