Sam Garton is 24 years old and currently lives in London. He studied Illustration at Derby University. However,
unhappy with his portfolio, he spent the last two years refining his
style into what he wants it to be, rather than what he thought he had
to do for the curriculum. He finds it hard to cite his inspiration. The images he creates stem from strange scenes that pop into his head. It frustrated him at art school to come up with long-winded explanations of why he had done certain things. He
feels that artwork should mean whatever the viewer wants it to mean,
obviously bringing about different emotions and feelings in different
people without a right or wrong. Nowadays he is free to create whatever he pleases, and he says that is the best feeling in the world.
